The 2015/2016 ice fishing season was spectacular.  Even with the short ice season, fishing reports were great.  Chetac continues to be the go to lake for fishing year round.

Our fisheries committee reports that the 2016 fishing opener was the best they have seen in the last 15 years.  That is really saying something!  The efforts to protect and enhance the fishery on Chetac are starting to pay dividends.  For instance, the efforts to return Chetac to the list of Walleye trophy producing lakes is paying off.  The stocking efforts over the last few years are paying dividends.  The DNR will be stocking the lake with another 24,000 extended growth Walleye in the fall.

The DNR has been great to work with to enhance our fishery.  Changes to limit rules on Bass and other species only help us in our efforts.
